The Jean Monnet Chair ‘Global Commons in the European Global Strategy:
A Specific Review of Human Rights, Security and the Consideration of the Sea as a Priceless Resource’ (GCEU) is dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering dialogue around the European Union’s fundamental strategic interests. This initiative will focus on three main pillars: (a) the protection and evolution of Human Rights, (b) the enhancement of Security frameworks, and (c) the promotion of a renewed understanding of the sea as a global resource of inestimable value. By integrating these themes, the Chair aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the EU’s global strategies and their implications for the future.
The Jean Monnet Chair aims to strengthen engagement with the academic, professional and policy communities. This platform will foster collaboration and intellectual leadership in addressing the complex challenges facing the EU and the global commons, ensuring that key knowledge is accessible to diverse audiences and fostering a shared commitment to sustainable and inclusive solutions.
